About Rising Tide Farm

Rising Tide Farm began as a small personal dream rooted in my love for growing things and sharing them with others. What started with a few garden beds and some trial-and-error has grown, season by season, into a family-run farm focused on plant starts, seasonal flowers, and helping others feel confident in their own gardens. Farming in Southeast Alaska has taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of working with nature rather than against it. Rising Tide Farm reflects that journey—growing slowly, learning constantly, and staying deeply connected to community, land, and the simple joy that comes from nurturing something from seed to bloom.

One of my favorite parts of the season is creating the weekly CSA bouquets. There’s something deeply satisfying about walking the gardens, choosing what’s at its peak, and bringing together colors, textures, and scents that reflect that exact moment in the growing season. Each bouquet feels personal—a small story of the week, shaped by weather, growth, and a bit of creative instinct. Knowing these flowers will brighten homes, mark special moments, or simply bring a little beauty into someone’s day is a joy that never gets old and is at the heart of why I grow.

I was raised with my hands in the dirt, thanks largely to my mother, who always had an amazing garden and welcomed me into it from the time I could walk. Even when my “help” slowed things down, she made space for my curiosity, patience, and love of growing things. Those early days of planting, watering, and wandering through the garden shaped not only my skills but my sense of comfort and belonging in outdoor spaces. That foundation of learning by doing, side by side, continues to guide how I grow today—rooted in care, creativity, and the belief that gardens are meant to be shared.

I was around 4 years old in this photo, showing my mom how deep to plant seeds in the garden. We always measured by the depth of my pointer finger.

At its core, Rising Tide Farm is about growth—of plants, of knowledge, and of community. Every season is a reminder that meaningful things take time, care, and a willingness to keep learning. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share what I grow, connect with others through flowers and gardens, and continue a journey that began long before this farm had a name. Thank you for being part of Rising Tide Farm and for supporting local, thoughtful, and deeply rooted growing.
